School Style

Hello people! Sorry I missed Sunday's post two weeks in a row! That was very un-vivien-like of me! School has officially started, and I have looked through school, spotting different outfits and sketching them out to show you. So here are a few designs inspired by what I've seen people wear at school...

When I saw this outfit I instantly liked it. It has black and white stripes,
(which i love)
a gray tank-top and a gray skirt. This is a mix between casual and dressy put perfectly together. (:

This outfit is casual and fun. Fashionable and sweet. It has a nice fresh style and nice colors. I love the short yellow shirt with jean shorts. It was a great combination and a nice look for school, fashionable and ready to learn. (:

This was really cute and stylish when I saw it, I'm not sure I captured it right in the sketch but it's close. this outfit was made up of different shades of black and I thought they were put together just right. I really like the uneven sides and boots. (:

I love everything about this outfit. The checkered skirt, the pink suspenders. It was so original and unseen. It reeks of confidence and originality. You see black and white then out of nowhere, pink! It was put together very well. (:

Immortal

A lot of people have wondered if a human can conquer immortality. If you ask, most people would say no. But the true answer is yes. Take, well, your favorite artist, like... Leonardo Da Vinci for instance, he made artwork back in the 15th and 16th centuries, but his artwork still lives today, his name is still remembered, therefore he is one of the many immortals that live today. Immortals are everywhere, in the Louvre, in almost every museum, there are a few or a lot of immortals. So what you can't see them in person? They're still immortal, and later, more immortals will be born.

Color Blocking

Hey guys (: Today I'm gonna tell you about color blocking. So color blocking is pretty much when you take  completely different colors, and make them look good together. I used to think color blocking was weird and didn't really make sense, but when you find a way to make the colors look good together, it will look very fashionable...here are some examples of color blocking...

This is a outfit that I already have. I really like how orange and black and white stripes go together...they complement each other.

This dress is an odd mix of dark green and purple. I've never experimented with these colors before, but I think the shades look good together.

This is a pretty complex outfit. It's got a sky blue shirt, red shorts, and black and white striped leggings. But I think they all look good put together, they don't seem to bother each other.

Accidental Art

Okay, okay...I know what you're thinking, "Vivien...why did you burn a two dollar bill??"
It wasn't my fault! Okay maybe it was partially, just a liiiiiiiiiiiittle tiny bit my faut...
I like to stay up and read a little while after I go to bed...(okay a lot after) anyway...I tend to leave the lights on...well, about all night and I must've left my desk light on...I didn't see it happen but here's my theory, I left my desk light on and I had a magnifying glass with a stand close by it and it reflected off of the magnifying glass and onto the two dollar bill. But it could've also been the sunlight that came through the window and reflected off the magnifying glass...I'm sorry to say, either way, most blame goes to the magnifying glass, so readers, be careful where you place your magnifying glasses...

The funny part is that when the two dollar bill was folded, the magnifying glass magnifying glass managed to burn the shape of a heart...so in this case, most of the credit goes to the magnifying glass...either way it gave me something to post so have fun, keep an eye on your magnifying glasses, and be safe, till next week... The Dance of Design

Hello again everyone! Today I'm gonna show you some new design sketches that I made. Hope you like them (:

This sketch is my odd interpretation of a tango dress-as you can see, I added my own little twist to it.  This is something I would wear when I was older but I find it unique and different... (:

This sketch is one of my absolute favorites (: I was going for a  kind of girly-ballerina look and this is what came from it :D I think it's a great mix of colors and I would DEFINATLY want to make this in the future, when I have more practice, (I want it to be perfect!) and have a sewing machine of course (:

I hope you liked the sketches guys! Have fun, inspire, and get inspired until the next Blogging!

The Deviously Delicious Powers of Brie Cheese...

Hello Everyone, sorry to say...this post won't be very relatable to the people out there who don't like (love) brie cheese so when I say "brie," pretend it's your absolute favorite cheese. So, I was at my favorite bakery with my mom and I saw that they had added something to their menu called Paris breakfast so we decided to try it. It had baguette bread and brie cheese, butter and jam and we ate it without hesitation for the next two days...On the third day, I knew I shouldn't have all that brie but there it was...staring at me, saying Eat me, eat me.... and you know what? I ate it. Yup I did... in fact I had some this morning, anyway, you have been warned of the deviously delicious powers of brie cheese (:

P.S. here's the bakery's website with more info, www.berolinabakery.com

Count Down to Paris

Hello! So today I'm going to tell you some very important and exiting information. As you know, I am very hooked up on going to Paris... my family and I were planning on going this year, because it was my year, (the year of the Dragon) but so many things came up that we didn't have any time so now we've started planning for next summer in June. So through my impatience, I have made a count down to June 15, witch is when we plan on leaving, and it starts...wait for it, wait...almost there, hold on a second...it's gonna happen..wait, just a minute...NOW! There is now, counting today, about 335 days till I go to Paris and when I get there will try to post more than I do now and show you pictures and drawings of what's happening...am I over-planning? No, of course not. Anyway, below are some sketches of what I drew in my journal today...

Fun with Friends

Hey guys! So I've told you once that I dream of going to the college F.I.D.M. But I forgot one very important detail...I want to go to F.I.D.M. with a very special friend of mine. Aida and I have been friends since Junior Kindergarden and ever since 2nd grade we've dreamed of being famous fashion designers together. I'm not very sure how we found out about F.I.D.M. but we both have our eyes on it, and we are gonna stick together until we reach our dreams :) So Aida came over yesterday and after we used every fun idea we could think of, something popped into our heads. We decided to make a shirt (: I showed Aida how to cut and sew the fabric, I did one side and she did the other, but we had to go over it twice because we didn't have a sewing machine. The shirt was meant to be for Aida but we cut it a bit too small on the sides so we decided to give it as a present to her little sister. As a finishing touch, we added a dark orange flower to the side, (witch I already had) and finally preseted to her sister (: She loved the shirt we made and it fit her perfectly :D A handmade present is always appreciated and fun to make so grab a friend and get going! Have fun and I'll see you next week :)

The Epic Tale of Ketchup, Mustard, & Pepper

Last week, my mom and I worked on a project that may or may not BLOW YOUR MIND!
I realize I'm getting just a little too exited about this but here goes. We hand painted our entire hallway! My mom found a painting by an artist named Calder and loved it. "We have to paint the hallway like this!" she said. So I got to work sketching the figures out in chalk, and when I was done my mom did the higher ones. The next day, first came the ketchups. We used the orange paint we already had for them. Then, when the ketchups were done, then came Mustard. (We also used paints we already had but there was only enough for one.) How did I come up with their names you ask? Well, while I was painting Mustard, my mom came and said, "But it's such an awful yellow, it looks like mustard..."
"Well that's perfect," I said, "Ketchup and Mustard," (:Then we left the two friends Ketchup and Mustard to dry and went to the store to get black paint for the rest of the wall, went back home and went right back to work. My mom said I could do the rest, but I knew she couldn't resist doing one or two. Soon enough she came back and did the taller ones. Then I thought, "Hmmm...what food is black..."  Pepper! And there came the pepper clan.

I think that in Calder's painting, the figures were supposed to be balloons, but my mom and I decided to to do them more like flowers or just leave the image of it a mystery. Now, you have heard, The Epic Tale of Ketchup, Mustard, & Pepper...

Viv vrs. Mamas

Hello Everyone! Happy July 4th! So today I'm gonna show you a drawing that is planning on going pretty far. If you guys have heard of the chocolate company, Mama's Gone Cacao, well one of the moms, is my mom (: and this is a fashion design style drawing of them. But it didn't get like this right away, first I drew it in my style with no faces and went over and showed it to the moms.
"They need to have a face," they said. So I went ahead and drew on their faces, went back and showed it to them. "It's really good but why aren't we smiling? And where's my lipstick?" So I went back, drew smiles, (and lipstick), and at that time didn't even bother to show it to the moms until later...and when I did..."It's great Viv, but one last thing, where's the jewelry? Like earrings?"
"Both your ears are covered," I said.
"Necklaces, bracelets?" they said.
"You know what,no. you're not getting any jewelry, nope. Nu-uh" and that my friends, is the story of how this drawing, came to be...
