Coming Together
If you've seen my post, Dare to Dream, you probably saw the sketch of the design I was planning to make as my first dress. Well...I've gotten the fabrics and measured the sizes but I've still got a long way to go before its completely done, the upper color is a little off and I'm planning on looking some more for the exact shade, but for now that king of dark lavender is the color. And obviously I don't have a mannequin yet, you know what's under the cloth? A birdcage. Not kidding, I thought of that today (; when you plan on being any kind of artist, you've got to be creative and open to new ideas, you've got to take in and give out inspiration.
P.S. I made up for the post I missed, make sure you check out the two I posted today.
Your blogger, Vivien (;
Sofa Canvas
Have you ever... sat on a couch...that was completely hand drawn on from head to toe...
if you answered yes...that's awesome for you, if you answered no, there's a party at my house, you're invited, and when you leave...you will realize that your answer has magically turned into yes.
Yes, it's true, my couch has been awesomely drawn on by...me :D
My mom was thinking of throwing away our family couch because it was getting old...so she said I could draw whatever I wanted on it so I picked up a cushion...sat down, and unsuccessfully tried to turn my brain on. That took me about ten minutes. So I started thinking of what to draw and I thought of clocks for some reason I cannot recall. So I started to draw a normal clock and thought it was boring...so I went all swirly on the sides and got lost in it. Then I drew a different clock and another, and another, and another, until the all of the upper couch cushions were packed with different types of clocks...but something still seemed to be missing. Soooooooooooooo...
I started to draw vein-like designs on the lower couch cushions and before I knew it, the ancient couch we were about to throw away...became an on-living masterpiece 'till this very day.

Dare to Dream
Below are some more recent designs I have drawn. I'm planing to use the one below as the first dress I will completely make from scratch myself because the design is simple but fashionable. I plan to make this around summer time, (when I'll hopefully have my own sewing machine, or go use my grandma's), I'm not too experienced with a sewing machine but I'll have plenty of time to practice.
This dress is one of my favorites. Its funky and fun and it has a bit of color blocking with green and yellow and that kind of reddish purple. This is definitely something I would wear to a party or just going out somewhere. This dress has a nice individual look to it and it screams with rocker passion.
This is a sort of "Alice in Wonderland" themed dress with a midday blue fabric and a black trim. This dress has a sweet and subtle look to it and is something I would wear to...about anywhere but school.

This dress has a sort of mystifying creative vibe to it. It is something I would wear to go someplace with friends, this dress is outgoing and fun and I once again plan to hand draw the designs with fabric marker.

Three Vivart Dreams
Below are some designs that I have put together. The first one below is called the playing card skirt. This was inspired by a beautiful playing card set I had bought a while before. It was originally designed to have real playing cards on the front and back. I had sleepily drawn the first copy in the back seat of a car on my way back from a trip and redrawn the one shown below later that day. I showed my mom when I finished and like the genius she is she pointed out, "What will happen to the cards when you sit down?" and well...now I'm stumped. I'll maybe just do the cards on one side or on both just for display. Feel free to leave some suggestions in the comments and I'll be sure to consider.
The next dress is called the paper dress, and no, it won't be made of paper. It's designed to look like a piece of notebook paper. I've drawn this sketch a while ago but sadly all I've gotten finished with most of my designs is the sketch. I want to make this dress in a comfortable fabric and for the first model I will probably hand draw the blue and red lines with fabric marker.
This one is one of the only designs I have basically figured out. Though I drew the sketch, I did not make the outfit for this is just an outline. I've worn the outfit to school a few times and I thought of it as something I came up with but I hope to someday make an exact model of the design. I guess you can think of this as a base that you can stretch and fold.
